The Magic of Blue and Green in Our Interiors

How can the psychology of colours balance the feel of our interiors?
We are designing a serene atmosphere for a luxurious bedroom featuring blue and green tones.
Can this colour duo co-exist?
We explore the versatility of these colour duos and how they can work wonders in various interior styles, sparking your creativity and inspiring your next design project.

‘The Meadow”
We designed a beautiful and serene bedroom for our home. I share my inspiration journey and my newfound love for this colour combination.
I enjoy establishing a theme when developing design ideas. For the bedroom, I chose a green and blue colour scheme inspired by the fresh, vibrant meadow that influenced the design’s title.
The concept features a mix of green for the walls, paired with luxurious wallpaper from Villa Nova, and touches of blue to add an element of surprise; the cool, moody colour ARCTIC BAY by Porter’s Paint elevates this vintage chest of drawers. We selected these specific shades because they complement each other well, creating a harmonious and calming atmosphere.

A SERENE SPACE
Designed by Anne Resplendino
Blue, reminiscent of a clear sky or a calm sea, evokes tranquillity and calmness, fostering feelings of peace and relaxation. On the other hand, with its connection to nature, the colour green works in harmony with natural materials like wood, stone, and plants, enhancing your home’s organic and eco-friendly aesthetic.
By harmonising blue and green in your room design, you can create a space that is not only serene and refreshing but also versatile. These colours can adapt to your mood, ensuring a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment as dynamic as you are.

BLUE and GREEN PERFECTION
Designed by Nicola Harding
I have been drawn to this colour combination since I saw this stunning study designed by Nicola Harding. I love how the ceiling is painted the same blue as the walls; the purpose is to adjust the volume of the room. This design choice added visual interest and created a sense of harmony and balance in the space.

LIGHTNESS and PEACE
Designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon
A tranquil dining space that exudes a sense of lightness and peace. The Hong Kong Hotel Lanson Place, designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon Design Studio, creates a serene space that is a welcome respite from Hong Kong’s bustling street life.

NATURAL OASIS
Textile by Ashley Wilde
Ashley Wilde, our favourite textile designer, has created a new collection that transports us to the exotic forests of the tropics. They’ve teamed up deep blues and lush greens that draw you deep into the rich tropical forest.

RICH LAYERED
Designed by Kit Kemp
Room 203 at Warren Street Hotel in New York, designed by Kit Kemp, is a rich, beautifully layered space. How inviting is this hotel guest room? I admire the skill and craftsmanship that go into designing such a space.
