My favourite piece of furniture in any living space is definitely a stunning bookcase. When visiting clients, friends, or family, I love looking at their unique bookcases and display collections.

Why? What attracts me most about bookcases is what’s on their shelves. It’s a treasure trove of curiosity.

These artifacts reflect the homeowner’s personality, and each bookcase is styled differently; I have never seen two identical bookcases in my design life.

I fondly remember visiting my uncle and aunt’s home during the school holidays as a child. My uncle is a passionate collector of everything related to The Adventures of Tintin.

The Adventures of Tintin is a series of 24 “bande dessinée” albums created by Belgian cartoonist Georges Remi, who wrote under the name Hergé.

My uncle’s bookcase is bright and colourful, filled with the entire Tintin collection. The miniature figurines on the shelf portray the characters of each adventure. As a child, I was mesmerised by these stories and in awe of the colourful books.
